Where did the name BIBLE BASE CAMP come from?
A typical “base camp” is defined in the dictionary as a rest stop strategically placed usually at the base of the mountain and/or midways up the side of a mountain that is used by climbers to restock needed supplies. And not only offers much needed respite for their long journey ahead, but also enables them to become acclimated (the process in which a person adjusts to altitude changes). This affords them more endurance for their upward climb.
We believe that this idea is much like the journey that we have as Christians. Our mission is to offer the same to children; to offer a place for kids where they can be free to express their faith in Jesus, a place of peace and encouragement.
